My friend crashed her bike on Lee St this weekend and later had this rock pulled out of her cheek at the hospital. Luckily she’s okay and probably won’t need surgery, but when I visited her last night she reminded me (and all of us) to wear a helmet.
I know lots of people in Greensboro who have been hit by cars while biking and there have been some well-publicized hit and run cases in town. Wearing a helmet doesn’t mean people here will suddenly start using their turn signals or driving sanely in general, but it may keep a rock out of your cheek.
