Despite the Weather

It was overcast and raining for the majority of the time Allie and I were on the Cape, but we still managed to cross off most of the things on our to-do list and I walked away with a sunburn.

Between intermittent rainstorms we biked to the general store, a thrift store, and the chocolate truffle shop of an eccentric man who held us captive with four other customers by telling us all of the details of his 6-week relationship begun on match.com and explained exactly how their Caribbean wedding was to happen in November.

We also made a few trips to the beach and even went kayaking on the lake during an unexpected bout of sunshine yesterday. For the most part we ate at home but we did splurge for a trip to the Brewster Coffee Shop. As enjoyable as my breakfast burrito was, it didn’t beat the toast, eggs and fruit Allie whipped up for us one morning.

Next time I think we’ll plan to come later in the summer and cross our fingers for better weather!
