Squatting in North Carolina?

I’ve heard a lot about laws on squatting and land ownership in various states, particularly how it is sometimes possible to squat land for long enough that you become the legal owner. I asked my friend, a student at Elon Law, about how this works in North Carolina.

Other states have much easier regulations, so unfortunately this doesn’t look viable here.

  1. What about in PA? There is a huge empty apartment building in west philly thats got a few names, one being Squatters City.

  2. I know the laws are pretty flexible in states like Florida, but I haven’t heard anything about PA.
